[12:31]<@Mulreay> wb
[12:31]<@BC_Programming> may have to try another client at this rate
[12:37]<@Mulreay> I'm slowly dieing inside with YouTube yet again... not sure I can stand going back to videos taking days to monetize and asking me for proof on episode 22 of a series that I have rights to the video... so frustrating when they start this stupidity
[12:39]<@Mulreay> And also how the F can an update for a game on PS3 be the same size as the game itself... one of those days I guess
[12:40]<@Mulreay> 3gb update... so sad my life has turned out to be today
[12:41]<@Mulreay> Should have stayed asleep
[12:41] * BC_Programming (BC_Program@mib-9D0A3648.no.shawcable.net) Quit (Quit: A train station is where a train stops, a bus station is where a bus stops. Guess what happens at my workstation!)

[20:08]<@BC_Programming> SUP PEEPS
[22:13]<Tux2> Okay Nat
[22:14]<Tux2> You can bug me here
[22:14]<@BC_Programming> lol
[22:14]<Nat> hehehhe
[22:14]<Tux2> lol, hey BC_Programming
[22:14]<@BC_Programming> I dunno it's soo busy here
[22:15]<Nat> anyway i had some questions about hosting in general
[22:17]<Nat> Tux2, you know that Reddit bot i was writing?
[22:17]<Nat> well they like it
[22:17]<Tux2> yes?
[22:17]<Nat> a lot
[22:17]<Tux2> Oh?
[22:17]<Nat> anyway, they want to host, but they really don't have the funds
[22:17]<Nat> so they're trying to squeeze as much as they can for the smallest amount possible
[22:18]<Nat> if i told you the requirements of this thing, could you help me find a cheap hosting solution?
[22:18]<Tux2> sure
[22:18]<Nat> i think they want to have ownership over the box itself to make sure i don't break anything on their subreddit
[22:19]<Tux2> Ah...
[22:19]<Nat> thanks!
[22:19]<Nat> yeah i mean nothing is final yet, they were saying that if it came down to it they really wouldn't care
[22:19]<Nat> but obviously it would be preferable to have access to the shutdown and startup of the bot and whatnot
[22:19]<Tux2> lol, yeah
[22:20]<Tux2> I could of course give them a shell account on my other server that isn't being used for anything at the moment
[22:20]<Nat> here's the thing
[22:21]<Nat> this thing is a CPU and bandwidth monster
[22:21]<Nat> now i've limited the CPU time by quite a bit
[22:21]<Nat> it only takes .4 CPU seconds for every 1.5 real time minutes
[22:21]<Tux2> http://ramnode.com/ would be your best bet
[22:21]<Nat> if you could give us a shell account it might work
[22:21]<Tux2> $5 per month
[22:21]<Nat> i just have to convince them that i'm trustworthy
[22:23]<Tux2> Yup, understood
[22:23]<Nat> still there Tux2?
[22:24]<Nat> ah
[22:24]<Nat> are you really not using the server for anything?
[22:24]<Nat> i thought it was hosting the Tux2MC tekkit server?
[22:24]<Tux2> Well, it's going to be a jenkins server, but right now it's just sitting there
[22:26]<Nat> is this the VPS or the one sitting at your house?
[22:40]<Nat> Tux2?
[22:40]<Tux2> This is a vps
[22:40]<Tux2> The Tux2mc tekkit server is a vps hosted by mclayer
[22:41]<Nat> so you just have a VPS sitting around?
[22:41]<Tux2> lol, yeah, haven't put it to use yet
[22:41]<Tux2> Although it will eventually be used, it will be low traffic
[22:42]<Nat> if its running jenkins that means it can be used for web hosting no?
[22:43]<Tux2> I could install apache on it...
[22:43]<Tux2> jenkins has it's own web server
[22:43]<Tux2> why? you need web hosting?
[22:44]<Nat> potentially
[22:44]<Nat> i mean i could use some Python thing since the whole thing is written in python
[22:44]<Nat> literally all it does is log the user's IP
[22:44]<Nat> it acts as a scammer database
[22:44]<Nat> so if we ban someone it just changes the scammer boolean in the database to true
[22:45]<Tux2> ah
[22:45]<Nat> if he ever decides "oh i'll just make a new reddit account so i can scam some more people on /r/tf2trade" WHAP
[22:46]<Nat> IT LOOKS LIKE YOUR IP BANNED
[22:46]<Nat> i'm just going to take this new steam profile you made just to scam more people and report it
[22:47]<Nat> nice try!
[22:47]<Nat> of course i've also set up a system if it catches the wrong people
[22:50]<Tux2> Awesome
[22:50]<Nat> its really cool how the whole thing works actually
